Issuance of Personnel Licences with new security Features

CAASL is in the process of introducing new security feature for all personnel licences to improve the quality with a tamper proof sticker with immediate effect.

The personnel who already hold current licences will be re-issued with this security feature when they call over for renewal or on request.

All holders of personnel Licences issued by DGCA Sri Lanka are required to forward the original licence to the counter of personnel Licensing Section to include  the licence with new security features, when they call over at CAASL for renewal or at their own convenience before the renewal date.

No fee will be charged for this purpose.

TECHNICAL EXAMINATION FOR THE ISSUANCE OF
AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE ENGINEER’S LICENCE (BASIC LICENCE)

Technical examination for the issuance of Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s Licence (BL) will be held according to the following schedule.

Date of Examination             : 13th March 2010

Syllabus                                  : Old (Refer ASN 008)

Closing Application               : 05th February 2010

Examination Fee                   : Rs. 3984.00             

Relevant application Form No: CAA/PL/E/07 could be collected from the counter, Personnel Licensing Section of Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka or may be downloaded from website www.caa.lk.

Duly completed applications should be forwarded to the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka on or before 05.02.2010.

All applicants for this examination should have the educational qualifications and work experience as per paragraph 4 (2) (a-e) of ASN No. 008 published by the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka. A copy of this ASN is available at the Technical Library of Civil Aviation Authority, and in the CAA website.

The venue and time of the examination will be notified to all candidates whose applications are accepted. Their names will be published in the website of CAASL (www.caa.lk) on or before 26.02.2010

Air Operator Certification

Regulations 185,186 and 187 of the Air Navigation Regulations of 1955, Chapter XII require a person intending to operate an aircraft for aerial work, charter, or regular public transport services to obtain a licence to that effect from the Director General of Civil Aviation.
