CONDUCT OF PRIVATE PILOT LICENCE TECHNICAL
EXAMINATION – YEAR 2010.

1) The Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka will conduct the PPL Examination according to new system as already published in the web site www.caa.lk with effect from April 2010. An AIC will be published in due course with regard to conduct of PPL Examination according to the new system.

2) The PPL examination according to existing system will be conducted until December 2010. The   subjects and the schedule of examination dates are as follows.

Elementary Navigation & Elementary Principles of Aeronautical Charts
Elementary Meteorology
Human Performance & Limitations
English Language Proficiency Check (ELPC)

(III) Applicants who intend sitting the above examinations should hold a valid SPL. They should forward their applications to Personnel Licensing Section of the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka on or before the closing date of application shown in the above schedule.

(IV)  Examination fee:

Payments should be made by cash.

(V) Specimen application form is published in CAA website (www.caa.lk). Applications  shall be handed over or be posted to reach the Personnel Licensing Section of the Civil Aviation Authority, No 64, Galle Rd, Colombo-03 on or before the applicable closing date of each Examination.

(3) The PPL Examinations scheduled to be held from April to December 2010 as indicated in above 2 (II) will facilitate only the re-sit candidates. All fresh applicants are required to sit the examination in new system with effect from April 2010. Examinations according to existing system will not be conducted after December 2010.

(4) The flying schools shall plan the training programmes to suit the above examinations and forward applications for the examinations accordingly.
