It has come to the attention of the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka that fake, fabricated, and misleading information is being circulated on several social media platforms.

Accordingly, the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka strongly emphasizes that the said information is entirely false, misleading, and unauthorized. No such statement has been issued to any media institution or social media platform by the Director General of Civil Aviation & Chief Executive Officer.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka is in the process of initiating the necessary legal action against the individuals and/or parties responsible for creating, publishing, and disseminating these fake and fabricated news reports through social media platforms.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka strongly urges the public, media institutions, and social media users to act responsibly and with due caution when sharing information relating to civil aviation matters and to verify such information through officially issued media statements and the official communication channels of the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka remains continuously committed to safeguarding public confidence, institutional dignity, and the credibility of state institutions and will take firm action against the dissemination of false information and misinformation.
