The staff awareness program for the Universal Safety Oversight Audit Program, Continuous Monitoring Approach (USOAP-CMA), was successfully conducted on 11th May 2026 at the CAASL auditorium.
Capt. Daminda Rambukwella, Director General of Civil Aviation & Chief Executive Officer (DGCA & CEO), emphasized the critical importance of preparing for the USOAP audit. He noted that as Sri Lanka continues to enhance its aviation safety oversight system, maintaining its reputation as a reliable ICAO Member State is paramount.
He also explained how ICAO standards guide the work of all member states and underscored the value of awareness programs like USOAP-CMA in helping CAASL identify key focus areas for the forthcoming audit.
Mr. M.A.K. Prasanna, Deputy Director General (Aeronautical Services Regulation) and National Continuous Monitoring Coordinator of Sri Lanka for the ICAO CMA Audit, provided an update on the current audit preparation status, outlined future plans, and stressed the importance of collective efforts to ensure the successful completion of the audit.
