Aeromedical Center
 

Medical Center is open from 8.30 am to 4.15.pm on all working days and is manned by a qualified Nurse for the convenience of the People involved in aviation duties and the Air Traffic Controllers for their medical requirements to serve aviatiors who require medical clearences. Routine Medical Examinations for all categories of Student Pilots, Professional Pilots and the Air Traffic Controllers held on Tuesdays to Fridays of the week from 10.00am – 12.30pm, by the special panel of Medical Examiners of the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka who are in Aviation Medicine.

Medical Examinations are held on appointment viz. Routine, Initial, Renewal medicals for Licences. The applicants will have to give at least two days noticefor an appointment medical examination, and liase with the licensing section and the stipulated fee will be is to be paid to the Accounts branch of the CAASL and the receipt is to be produced to the Nurse for the appointment on the desired day. Then the medical examination form for Aviation Licences (From C.A.41) is issued which form is duly filled by the applicant and meets the Nurse for the preliminary check and then the medical form and the personnel medical file will be forwarded to the Medical Officer for the final assessment.

Those who found to be medically unfit due to physical, mental, biological and functional Deficiencies will be referred to Consultants of various specialties and their opinion is Obtained subsequently they will be tried on a Medical Board by the panel of medical Examiners and the decision is made.
